Pg. 3-6 Shape Spelling! – Fit the letters to the spaces and write them in the spaces. Three choices of spelling papers. 1. The ten spelling words – color the feathers depending on how they are spelled. 2. The first four spelling words and the high frequency words. 3. The high frequency words – this can be copied onto the back of the spelling page.
Pg. Pg. 7-8 Tic-Tac-Toe Spelling – Find a partner to play with – each player picks a spelling word to use. Use two spelling words instead of x’s and o’s. Pick new spelling words for the second game. You can use this paper a few times a week with different spelling words.
Pg. 9-10 Color the wind Clouds – Color the clouds depending on the “ie” spelling or the “igh” spelling of the words. Write the words in the correct boxes.
Pg. 11 Use It! – Use as many of the vocabulary words as you can in a story
Pg. 12-15 Cut Those Syllables! – Cut out all the word boxes. Cut the word between the two syllables and glue them onto the paper separating the first syllable and the second syllable. Continue for the rest of the words.
Pg. 16-18 Gluscabi’s experiences and actions – Fold a piece of brown construction paper to form two flaps. Color and glue the head and glue the labels and writing paper in the appropriate places. Complete the writing. See the example.
Pg. 19 Let’s Compare Characters – Compare two characters’ experiences and actions. Use two characters from this week’s stories or two characters from other books.
Pg. 20-21 Roll a Question! – copy pages A and B back to back. Roll a dice to get a question word. Use the question word in a sentence with a question mark. Answer your questions with an illustration.
Pg. 22-29 Wind Eagle Forgot His Promise… - a fun writing and craft project. What happened when Wind Eagle forgot his promise? Copy the patterns onto the appropriate colored construction paper and put together as seen in the example.
Pg. 30-33 Thunder and Lightning Concentration – Rules are on the game. This game can be attached to cardstock and laminated.
