Students will love learning about the National Parks while designing an "extra large" postcard. On one side students will design a scene from their chosen national park. The other side of the postcard will have the teacher's address as well as a letter to the teacher from the student who is pretending to be at the park. Students are given specific information to include in the postcard as well as an information collection sheet to use while researching. This project can be assigned for home or could be done at school with computer access. Using 11" by 14" copy paper, one side is left blank, the other side will have the lines for the student to write you the letter on the left side and the right side will have 4 lines for you to address it to yourself and a square for a stamp that students can draw. Staff, parents, and students will enjoy looking at these in the hall or other display area. Included is a grade sheet and a list of national parks that you can cut apart and have each student select one.
