This Yellowstone National Park lesson has two pages of informational text plus 18 Multiple Choice Questions that deal with Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Skills. The text describes many of the attractions of the park telling why it is a national treasure. You get 3 color photos of Yellowstone, which includes its forests, Old Faithful Geyser, and a beautiful waterfall. (They do not show up in color on my thumbnails.)
Reading skills include: Locating Details, Drawing Conclusions, Making Inferences, and Identifying Similes and Metaphors. The taught and tested Vocabulary Words are: preserved, bison, fortunate, ecosystem, simile, and metaphor. The answer key is on the 8th page. Since it is a word document you will easily be able to print off the number of copies you need and also make any desired changes to the product. This will be an effective lesson for Teaching Reading Skills or for Teaching Reading in the Content Area of Social Studies.
