This is a table I created for the Native American Cultural Regions unit.
Students were assigned to read a text about one region in small groups and fill out the table about their Native American group. After that I used a cooperative structure "Mix-Freeze-Group" to have students share what they learned with each other and fill out the table about each group. The final writing assignment was to write a compare and contrast paragraph about any two groups using information from the table. This was a great unit for my ELLs, because I could differentiate texts based on language proficiency, and I incorporated all 4 language modalities into each lesson!
