Students will investigate why native Americans played games. They will truly enjoy working in small groups as they circulate the room to discuss three authentic games. Each game will ask them to ponder two questions with their teammates. The questions draw their attention to the skill being developed by playing, materials the natives had at their disposal and present day games that were inspired by our native Americans. When the students are done, they will start phase two: Create A Native American Game! They can do this on Google Classroom or a posterboard in your room! Your students will love to share the games they made!
