My class used these informational slides to learn about three important Native American groups. We also practiced the reading strategy of determining importance by finding the most important information and underlining it for our notes. Students then took notes on the related graphic organizer (only using the most important words that we underlined together). The pictures and notes cover the homes, jobs, transportation, region and climate, and contributions of the Powhatan, Pueblo, and Lakota-Sioux tribes. At the end, students compared and contrasted each group using a venn-diagram. See my store for the simple graphic organizer to go along with these notes.
