What educators are saying

I used this resource to challenge some of my students, they loved collaborating and researching. Very engaging.
The students enjoyed reading the text passages and working on their own opinion piece. It was very easily to follow and adjust with my students.

Description

Are you celebrating Native American Heritage Month this November? Honor and learn about Indigenous Peoples any time of the year with this high-interest research project.

This Research Project is broken down step by step, to help your students write a research essay and complete a project independently.

This writing pack will help your students complete a research project about the Indigenous People that once lived in the area you now live in. Link included with an interactive map to identify which Indigenous Peoples lived in your area. Directions included for this project are for researching any Indigenous Peoples Group.

Directions are clear and easy to understand and come in two layouts for students to either work at their own pace or work as a class step by step. Note-taking sheets and organizers help students to record information they learn from the sources they are using, as well as, gain a deeper understanding of the Group they researched and the contributions they made.

This pack can be easily infused into any writing program. See the preview for more specific details! This research project can be completed as a whole class, independently, with student partners, or in small groups.

NOTE: For students to complete the research, you will need to provide them with books or websites. This pack contains reproducibles to help them gather and organize information into a research project.
