Product Description
Twenty-three slide Powerpoint is a two to three day introduction to Native American literature, includes a thorough explanation of the types and functions of native stories myths and themes. Also includes journal questions, U.S. map of Native language families and quotes about stereotypes. Two of the slides directly correspond to reading McDougal Littell's The Language of Literature anthology textbook of American Literature for Grade 11 – "In Harmony with Nature" and "The World on a Turtle's Back." I've included the links embedded to the PBS sites of native story tellers which has audio and text options. Also included is an assignment to write a creation myth as well as thematic excerpts with another link to Bill Moyer’s page from April 2013 of “Sherman Alexie’s Top Ten Native American Poets.”
