Roll a Myth — you will need two 6 sided dice.
I use this grid to support children with generating ideas for their writing… in this case for Native American Myths.
There are different ways to use them e.g:
Work in teams of 2-4, roll the dice and generate four images or words from the grid to make up a story together. This can be a short talking task, they might write a story summary or use it to help them plan a myth.
Children roll the dice and create a sentence using the words or image to ‘win’ the square. Take turns to roll and tell the story. The first to have four squares in a row, column or diagonal wins.
Make the myth grid available for the children as they write— if they get stuck they can roll the dice and use the grid to help them.
I am sure there are lots of other games too!
I have also included a grid for children or teachers to add their own images and words.
