This is a bundle of my two awesome research packs that cover Native American tribes of the United States and Explorers of the Western Hemisphere!
Each pack includes a nonfiction article about a tribe or explorer along with an integrated activity to help kids remember the information. There is a big project to do at the end of each unit. These packs will make your social studies come alive for your students!
How does it work?
Day 1- Start with an intro. Teach about why explorers explore, what challenges they face, how sailors navigated, and parts of the Earth
Day 2- Assign Explorers to students. All 13 should be covered.
Days 3-4- Time for Student Research
Days 5-8 Create Presentations
Days 9-22 Student presentations; After each presentation, there is a teacher-directed activity that integrates reading, math, science, and art.
After all presentations are done, there is a final reflection/assessment and rubric for grading
