This human relations lesson/activity is designed to help students understand the plight of today's Native American youth. To be used in an upper secondary classroom to bring in real world statistics and to create authentic discussions - this is not a fluffy, stereotypical Thanksgiving activity. Your students thoughts and feelings will be challenged! This activity can be extended into in an entire unit designed to create a culturally responsive classroom, that is free of racism and prejudice. Please check back for more of my activities/lessons based on improving students exposure to and understanding of marginalized populations.
