What will archeologist say about us? Kick off the unit with students acting as scientist from the future. Digging into the past they will discuss why it is important to learn and protect cultures from the past.
Students as they aim to answer the driving question will create virtual museums about their tribe. They will curate artifacts from online and turn them into an interactive, entertaining class museum that they can be proud of.
This unit includes:

Teacher Resources- Word Wall with key terms, Key for word wall activity, pages for setting up classroom and team norms, directions to post for how to organize artifacts using a Google spreadsheet, Critical Friends (for peer critique), Thinking Maps for brainstorming, 3 pages of in-depth lesson plans that include debriefing questions and checkpoint questions to ask students throughout the project
Bonus: A mini (4 document) Document Based Question with guiding questions and a separate rubric for a lower tech option for students that struggle with technology.
