Story wheels are a quick, easy and fun way to practice reading and writing in your language arts class or as part of your Daily 5 activities.
Use to assess comprehension, practice sequencing, retelling of a story, assess fine motor skills or teach a new concept in any school subject.
The Nativity Story Wheel makes a fun holiday activity for kids to color and read or create their own version of the story.
Print on regular white letter sized paper or cardstock
Color in the pictures using crayons, colored pencils or markers
Cut out circle 1 and circle 2 of the wheel
Punch the dot in the middle of the two circles so they line up using a metal brad
Turn the wheel to reveal the next part of the Christmas story.
Wheels can also be glued into visual journals or other notebooks (i.e. math journal)
Kit includes the Nativity Story (in color) which can be used to introduce your lesson.
Alternatives for this lesson would be to have students use one of the following:
Circle 2 - blank – have students cut out the pictures and glue them in order
Circle 2 - no text - have the children write their own text to the Nativity story
Circle 2 - no pictures - have the children draw their own pictures to the
