Product Description
Learn about Natural Resources, Renewable Resources, and Non-Renewable Resources with science, writing, drawing, problem-solving, research with technology and create a diorama of the harvesting of a natural resource from a student's own home state or province.

Discover: Resources
Congratulations! You’ve been selected for a scientific expedition to discover natural resources, renewable resources, and non-renewable resources.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about:
-natural resources
-renewable resources
-non-renewable resources
-conservation

Through this challenge, you will learn through research online and in books about resources in your own state or province. It is important to understand the natural resources in your own community. After collecting your research, you will present what you have learned through creating a diagram of a natural resource and how it’s harvested.

You can never know what is in your own backyard until you have explored and researched.

Don’t forget, your classmates and teacher will want to read and hear about all that you’ve learned in your research during this challenge so make sure to record all the information you find throughout the process in your work book.

What is Project Based Learning?:
Project Based Learning is a method of teaching where students have a question or topic that relates to the curriculum that they work on for an extended period of time in an engaging, creative, and experimental manner and respond to the question through a challenge. The difference between PBL and creating a project is that projects are created AFTER learning and PBL allows students to learn through the entire process and toward a goal of answering a challenge or question.

The project is focused on student’s learning goals and curriculum using creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and self-management.

The best part about PBL is that it is brings a lot of learning subjects together in one project, allowing students to spend a lot of time on their PBL while meeting many aspects of the curriculum all at once.

ACCESS TO BOOKS AND TECHNOLOGY IS NEEDED TO RESPOND TO THE WORKSHEETS
