PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This student assignment sheet guides students through the use of the website titled "Peppered Moths: Natural Selection in Black and White", created by Craig Tevis (2003). The website URL is http://www.techapps.net/interactives/pepperMoths.swf.

I have found the website to be a very useful way to introduce and model the concept of natural selection as part of a unit on genetics, heredity, and adaptation.

The assignment sheet prompts students to take notes about the story of the peppered moth in Industrial Revolution England. Students then experiment with the simulation in order to examine the effects of environmental change on a population of peppered moths.
