This fun math center activity is simple to prep and loads of fun for students to use in math centers, rotations and workshops to learn about the concept of addition using the 'near doubles' strategy. Students will use known double facts (e.g. 2+2) to solve near doubles (e.g 2+3).
Students can play in a small group. There is no winner, just lots of practice and fun!
Students take a card and identify the known double then write the answer in the house next door to show the 'near double'. Add additions have totals less than 20.
This can be recorded on their worksheet as well, if desired.
