As a side project, I have developed a series of toddler Spanish classes using a character named "Pablo." I wrote and illustrated a series of stories in a big, picture-book format as part of the learning segment for the classes. Those story books have been scanned and divided into colorized screens for your classroom projector and black-and-white coloring sheets for you to print and use in your classroom.
This story is about a toddler in his high chair telling his mom the different kinds of food/drink he wants and then stating that he needs a fork/knife/bowl/cup, etc. Vocabulary included:
Necesito, quiero, tengo hambre/sed
Plato, cuchara, tenedor, cuchillo, vaso, tazón
Uvas, frijoles, sopa, mantequilla, leche, cereal, agua
At the end of the file is a closing activity that you can both print and project that allows students to demonstrate mastery. The various parts of the file are appropriate for a variety of age of child, with simple, repetitive language.
Also in your purchase is an mp3 file with a song about this topic, called “Necesito mi cuchara“. The song is not identical to the storybook, but the vocabulary and syntax are very similar.
You can buy a copy of this set that also has this song embedded in it with a music video that I produced using animation tools.
Thanks so much for looking at my products!
