Board games and sorting activities are great interactive ways for students to learn these negative prefixes and their meanings! The activities included in this packet can be implemented into the classroom, additional pieces to lessons plans, and for Orton-Gillingham based tutorial sessions!
The words in the word deck review a number of concepts:
- negative prefixes (in, un, non, mis, dis)
- suffixes (ly, ed, ing)
- consonant + le words
- soft c
- vowel teams and digraphs
It is important to continually spiral back to learned concepts. If the card deck contains a word that the student has not learned yet, it can easily be removed. Prefixes can be studied individually and then reviewed all together.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you and hope you and your students enjoy!
