Glyphs are a fun way to symbolize yourself! Your students will read each of the choices in the various sections. They will choose one choice or fact from each section and follow its instructions. In the end, they will have their own original Nerdy Birdy to represent themselves.
This is a great writing activity or a beginning of the year "Getting to Know Me" activity!
Check out Aaron Reynolds book, Nerdy Birdy, as a great read aloud before you do this project! It is a great story about accepting everyone despite their differences. What a great way to establish tolerance and respect in your classroom!!!!
