This product contains a list of 52 common somatic and psychiatric disease and conditions from Alzheimer’s to schizophrenia in a table form. These can be cut out and placed in a fun anatomy container, like a skull, and students can draw their disease/condition. You can also assign topics to particular students or have them choose. This product may be used in anatomy and physiology, health science, AP biology, or psychology class. Many students have no idea how to correctly write a science research paper in high school. As science teachers we need to teach them how to do this!
There is a group activity that has students in small groups research PTSD and answer nine questions about the disorder. Each group records their answers and presents their information to the class.
You could also have students do a short presentation on each disease or condition.
There is a rubric to help with grading. There are no points assigned, this will allow the teacher to make the assignment fit different grading scales. I always printed a rubric for each student, had them place their name on and turn it in with their paper. Students get back the same rubric with their grade on it and clearly marked categories they missed.
