This is an engaging critical thinking activity for high school or even college anatomy students. Each key vocabulary term has four descriptions - three are correct and one is not. Students have to determine which description is incorrect and then explain their logic as to why they can rule it out. Students will record their answers in the table included. Twelve key terms and Table are included.
This activity works well with collaborative partners or small groups and may take up to 30-40 minutes to complete. It requires students to engage in those high level thinking skills we want them to use.
I copied the single pages onto different colors of paper (different color for each term and its descriptors), cut these apart and placed in snack size baggies. Colored paper helps the students quickly determine which descriptors go with each term, so there is little confusion in the objective of the activity.
