This PowerPoint presents information for the introduction to the nervous system, structure and function of nervous tissues including neurons and glial cells, and the structure and function of the spinal cord, with emphasis on reflex arcs. The process of Action Potential is also discussed for the neurophysiology. The information is kept to a relatively basic level and is ideal for any high school anatomy and physiology course where students are being exposed to the subject for the first time. The PowerPoint also has built in clinical application questions to ask the class to ensure that they are on task and understanding the information being presented. This information accompanied with supplementary work usually takes about a week with classes who have 40 minute blocks. PowerPoint if fully editable to add and remove information as you please.
