This is a fun way to review the structures and functions of the nervous system. Students will be provided a clue and then they must slap the card that matches the clue. The first person to slap the card keeps the chip. The winner of the game is the student who has the most chips at the end of the game. The following words are included: central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, motor neuron, sensory neuron, interneuron, stimulus, response, reflex, voluntary, involuntary. Each of of the words provided has a definition card to match it. Two blank chips are left for other vocabulary words you may want to include. This can be used as a matching activity at the beginning of a unit for students or as a slap review game once students know the vocabulary words. This is a high interest cooperative learning activity for students.
