Netflix's Unnatural Selection: The First to Try, examines the advancements in genetic engineering. This episode discusses the treatment and costs behind some of these medications. It looks at the problem of medical debt and the need for more accessible cost of treatments. It also looks at the issue with insurance and treatment. This documentary would be beneficial in a Biology, Human/Animal Science, Genetics, or Biomedical course. It also works great for a last minute lesson plan.
My video guide contains 30 questions and an answer key has been provided for your convenience. The episode is 63 minutes in length. There is an opinion question to answer after the talk that will require time for students to write and discuss. The series is rated TV-MA and there are some cuss words in this episode. I made notes on the answer key around which parts to be aware of language. I would encourage you watch the episode before purchase to decide if you would like to use it in your course.
