This lesson is a peer-assessment where students work in small groups to assess their technique and use of proper form in performing the neutral squat. This lesson comes with an introduction (including the standards addressed, course level expectations, and performance indicators), a peer-assessment checklist, a reflection and analysis section and a check for understanding section. A complete lesson that typically takes two class periods depending upon the number of students in each group and the amount of equipment available. The neutral squat can be done without equipment, with pvc pipes (for new learners), and/or barbells and weighted plates. This lesson can be easily adapted for all level learners and is an excellent activity to use for teacher evaluations.
