New, Improved ABC Pokey Pin Centers that students love to do while exercising their hand muscles for fine motor coordination and learning the formation of their alphabet letters at the same time. Each letter has a dot for beginning and arrows with numbered steps to help students engrain HOW letters are correctly formed while getting fine motor exercise for their hand. These are independent centers that children can do on their own while you lead small groups. There are 4 choices for easy differentiation: both uppercase and lowercase both on same page, both uppercase and lowercase with picture to represent sound, and then a separate page for upper and lowercase for people who want to get creative. Advanced pokey pinners can cut out separate letters and adhere them to form their name or even sight words!

The only materials needed are a push pin for each student and these papers stapled to a piece of construction paper and you will have ready-to-go literacy centers.
Directions: Put a staple at the top mid center and bottom mid center with the alphabet page on the top. Cut in half and you will have two sets. This must be done on a rug or carpet squares so that the push pin will go through the papers and create a pin hole.
Students will poke the push pins along the dotted lines . Upon completion, students remove the white paper to reveal the dotted picture ready to hang on a window to let the light shine through. Children find this activity very relaxing and enjoyable and find the end results magical!
