As a culminating activity to the New England states study, students will make a salt map of the state he/she has studied. Each group of students will share their “Salt Maps” as a “jigsaw.” There will be different states in each group. After students share their salt maps, I give them a blank map of New England. Students will label each New England state and its capital. They will also label any other details they remember from their studies and sharing of salt maps. This is an AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT.
