This is a comprehensive composition project meant to be used at the end of a high school Music Theory Class. The ZIP file includes:
"New Music Project Prompt"- The Instructions and Rubric for the Overall project
"Beginner Level"- The easiest level of the project. Students must complete a harmonization based on a given Soprano, Bass, and Roman Numeral analysis, as well as identify important features. Each is based on a Bach Chorale. Example 1 is based on BWV180, Example 2 is based on BWV26, and Example 3 is based on BWV 262.
"Intermediate Level"- The middle level of the project. Students must select given soprano lines and complete a harmonization of the selected lines and include and identify features of their piece.
"Advanced Level"- The most difficult level of the project. Students must create a piece from scratch.
All level prompts include a PDF and the original Finale 2012 file if you choose to edit it.
