This New Year's activity has students writing an explanatory essay about three resolutions they have for 2018. Included in this lesson are graphic organizers to walk students through the writing process. They'll begin by brainstorming resolutions according to three different categories (academic, personal, friends/family). This will led directly to their thesis statement. From here students will outline their body paragraphs, introduction, and conclusion. Each page is festively designed and would look great on display! If you don't have time or space for full essays, a banner template is included for students to fill out a 3, 2, 1 activity.
This can also be used through your Google Classroom, allowing students to fill in their graphic organizers using Google Docs and typing up their final essay online. Click on the digital link from the first page to access the Google Doc.
