Need a fun and engaging review activity for the first day after winter break? Try out this New Year's Eve themed challenge. Students can work independently or with a partner or small group to solve 12 challenges that review math skills, reading skills, and language arts. After solving each challenge, students will receive a letter. At the end students will unscramble all 12 letters to reveal their final message "Happy New Year!"
-subtraction with and without regrouping (double and triple digit)
-word problems (addition and subtraction)
-fact or opinion
-QR code to listen to "Auld Lang Syne"
-word boggle with letters from "Happy New Year
-fix that sentence (punctuation/capitalization)
**Best for 2nd and 3rd grade (review) but some of the challenges can even be used for 1st grade. (not math) My class is pairing up with the 1st grade class to work together in partners/small groups to complete the challenges.
