This packet includes six different literacy center activities with recording sheets plus two different goal writing sheets. The activities are designed to be used to start the new year after winter break. There is no specific year on any activity so that they may be used year after year.
The literacy activities included are:
Sentence Unscramble: Students will use the cards with matching pictures to unscramble the sentences and then write the sentences on the recording sheet.
Word Sort with –ed and –ing: Students read the words on the cards in a game format. At the end they write some of the words on a recording sheet.
Asking or Telling Sentences: Students read the sentences and sort them by the type of sentence. Then write the sentences on the recording sheet.
Long Vowel Tic Tac Toe Boards: Students read the sentences on the board and play tic tac toe. This activity builds fluency and has two different difficulty levels. This is the only activity without a recording sheet.
ABC Order: Students will put words in alphabetical order and then write the words on the recording sheet.
Capital or lowercase words: Students will sort the words by if they begin with a capital or lowercase letter and then write the words on the recording sheet.
Goal Writing: Students can use either of the goal writing papers to set goals for the new year.
I hope you find these activities useful as you return back to school after winter break! Thanks for your purchase!
