As the clock struck twelve into the new year last night, something catastrophic happened all over Mathhattan! Every single computer went berserk, dates flipping back prior to the year 2000 and errors constantly flashing that our current time zone does not exist. A hacker is clearly behind this fake Millennium Bug attack. This New Year a great detective is needed to help find who is behind this cybercrime!
NEW - Editable Suspects list added to the packet. This way you can change the suspect names and alter the mystery outcome. There are also two alternative pre-made suspect lists you can use instead. This is a great option if your students have already done this mystery story before and you need to change the mystery answer.
In this New Year Math Mystery, the Grade 5 Common Core skills covered are:
- CLUE 1: Area and Perimeter Word Problems (Customary and Metric Options provided)
- CLUE 2: Multiplying Fractions by Fractions (simplifying required)
- CLUE 3: Subtracting Decimals
- CLUE 4: Dividing 3-digit and 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers (no remainders)
- CLUE 5: Multiplying 3-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers
