Description

Why do teachers and students love our Learning Quests?
We all know kids LOVE technology, so why not blend their passion with learning? Take your New Years Resolution lesson plan to the 21st century with these Learning Quests. Learning Quests provide an easy format to help teachers utilize 1:1 devices in their classrooms. Plus, kids love Learning Quests and will beg for more!
What is a Learning Quest?
Students use a device to listen to and read a text, complete interactive digital educational activities, watch a video, write about their learning, and take a short quiz.
How to use a Learning Quest during Whole Group Instruction
The teacher projects the Learning Quest activities while students follow along on their devices. First, the class completes the focus activity and makes predictions. Next, teachers can either project the text and read it together as a class, or students can listen/read on their own devices. While reading, students can digitally highlight key ideas on their devices, while taking notes with paper and pencil.
Then, students demonstrate their understanding about the topic by completing the various interactive digital activities on their own devices. This can be done together as a class, or students can complete them independently during the lesson or throughout the week. After students are done engaging with the digital version (and because all Learning Quest materials are also printable) students can write about what they learned with paper and pencil. Finally, to check for understanding, students take a short quiz.
How to use a Learning Quest as Independent Work
Learning Quests can also be completed independently with student devices. We also provide a printable independent work packet option if students don’t have a digital device or if teachers want students to work through some (or all) of the activities on paper. This is a great option for fast finishers, center work, self-paced learning, or enrichment activities.

* A note about pre-recorded audio:
The pre-recorded audio is already embedded in the digital platforms which allows students to have the text read to them. Some districts block audio files they do not own, meaning the audio may not play for your students on the Google Slides platform. In this case, we have no way to alter your district’s settings. As a possible work around, we include a link to access back-up mp3 files and instructions for manually inserting the audio into Google slides. While audio enhances the student’s experience in the digital learning quest, students can complete the activities without it.
As another note, the pre-recorded audio provided in the Seesaw and Lumio platforms do not have the same playback issues.
Please take this into consideration before making your purchase.
