These worksheets include 5 nonfiction paragraphs about New Year's written in different text structures. Students read each paragraph and identify the text structure being used. Each paragraph also includes a corresponding graphic organizer.
The first worksheet includes all the examples on one page. The rest of the worksheets have the same examples with one example per page and give a place for the students to fill out graphic organizers. Works great for guided reading, whole class instruction, or homework.
This packet has made my students think about text structure while also keeping students engaged with the upcoming holiday. Students love learning new information about New Year's and I love that they are practicing an ELA skill.
Text structures included are:
Compare and Contrast, Problem and Solution, Descriptive, Sequencing, and Cause and Effect.
An answer key is provided.
