This New Year's packet features 5 worksheets to get students thinking about the best of the previous year and what they would like to accomplish in the New Year. Worksheets have a space for student to write the year so worksheets can be reused from year to year. Works great for morning work! Worksheets included:
-Hello, New Year!- Students write and draw pictures about their hopes and dreams for the new year.
-Goodbye, Previous Year!- Students write and draw pictures of their favorite memories, people, and interests from the previous year.
-New Year's Goal Setting- Students set goals for math and reading, write why these goals are important, and develop at least 3 ways they will achieve their goals. This worksheet can easily be cut in half for teachers who only teach math or reading.
-Countdown- Give students a topic and have them countdown their favorites. For example, if students are given the topic 'Favorite Television Shows,' they would list their top 10. This can be made into a fun game by posting the countdowns in the front of the room and letting students guess which countdown belongs to each student.
-Making A Resolution- Students develop a definition for the term 'resolution' and then write 1 paragraph describing their resolutions for the New Year.
