“My Dreams for the New Year” writing prompt is a fun activity to do any time during the month of January. Instead of only discussing their new year’s resolutions with them, I also like to have my students brainstorm what their dreams would be for the new year if they could have anything they wanted for themselves, their families, their country, and the world. This is also a wonderful activity to do in correlation with Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
I have provided THREE different options of this writing activity for you to use to choose from: a flip book with six kid page toppers included, a half-page book, and a balloon-shaped book that can also be used as a colorful bulletin board display. I have also included covers for the years 2018-2030 for each of the options.
★ Please check out the preview to see page samples of the three writing activities and to ensure they match the ability level of your class.
I hope your children enjoy these New Year’s writing activities!
