New Year’s and STEM!!
Celebrate the New Year with a fun hands-on STEM activity that reviews force and motion as well as potential and kinetic energy. Using the engineering design process, students will design and create a confetti launcher prototype. Problem solving, team planning, and perseverance skills will all be applied as they work to achieve this interesting challenge. Included with this packet are teacher notes, student worksheets, a rubric, reflections worksheets, an engineering design process chart, inquiry question ideas, and student role cards.
Cheryl B's review : "Oh, wow! We just did our presentations today, and this is definitely a keeper! Some of the strengths included the helpful limited supply list (including the wise limit of 1 teaspoon of confetti for each test), the very friendly thinking sheets that guided through the engineering design process, and the clear rubric. It was exactly what this STEM crazy teacher was looking for in every way."
* NOTE: If you have purchased the Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Engineering packet, you already have this activity (with the instructions geared to the fairy tale plot.)
