This is a 20-question common-core aligned midterm exam for Algebra 1, with a student-ready solution set which can be used as a study guide with additional resources from Khan Academy.

I constructed this test to align with the 20 most commonly tested Algebra 1 standards.

It works well as a final, but I recommend instead downloading the baseline, midterm, and final which are also aligned to this baseline. This will allow you to create an item analysis for this exam per student and per standard that will help you chart improvement.

a. Common-Core Aligned

b. Based on the New York State Algebra I Regents, but is appropriate for any Common-Core Algebra I course

c. Constructed to cover the 20 most commonly tested standards over the last 12 Regents. Each test question covers a unique standard

2. Editable Solution set

a. Student-ready, with specific topics that they can study

b. Standard covered by the questions

c. Lists the possible sources of error for each multiple choice

3. Editable Raw score conversion chart

a. The conversion chart is proportional to the conversion chart for the full test

b. Student grade on this test are an honest predictor of their readiness for the Regents

This test is also aligned to the baseline and final I created, which can also be found on Teachers Pay Teachers. These tests test for the same standards, and therefore can be used to create an item analysis to show growth per student and per skill set.

Appropriate for:

• 8th grade: Advanced 8th graders or 8th graders who are rising Algebra students

• 9th graders: Algebra students at all levels of readiness

• 10th, 11th, and 12th graders: Review of prerequisites, for struggling or lower performing students, and for students who are taking the SAT or ACT
