If you are a first time SPED teacher, a SPED teacher who could be more organized, or a SPED teacher who simply wants to be more efficient and effective, this system of organization I have developed will help you do just that and make your life easier. It's simple, practical, and purposeful. My undergraduate degree is in graphic design and fine art, so I work really hard to streamline processes and make materials as visually accessible as possible.
I want to also make clear that this system includes tracking worksheets and other aids, but does include the need binders or other physical supplies. This is a PDF file ONLY.
This is the system for organization I created and use in my classroom. It makes data and grades a piece of cake to keep track of. If you use this, it will most likely make you a far more productive teacher, especially if you have a paraprofessional in your room. It will provide a quick visual reference of where every student lies, in IEP goals and assessment.and a comprehensive hard copy of data.
Essentially you are tracking data for two things (2 sets of binders): IEP goals and Assessments.
The first two binder suggestions are for the IEP goals. One binder holds IEP, student goals, students scores, school supplies, and learning aids. The other goals binder contains a scoring sheet used to record student goals while they are working. (Students mainly manage binder one, the one w/ the supplies and learning aids, the other is for teacher use only)
The second set of binders are for Assessment tracking. One binder contains all assessment work and the other is used for collective assessment score keeping.
I've included a number of templates in this bundle that are extremely helpful. Included are score keeping trackers for the individual of their goals and assessments, Class score keeping sheets, for collecting data quickly as students complete their goals. I've also included a comprehensive timed reading assessment tracker bundle that allows the teacher to keep comprehensive data on a student's fluency, WPM, comprehension, behavior, etc. This data can also be graphed as an additional visual aid.
I've also included a bookmark template that can be laminated and personalized for each student. It has a place for the student's information including their lexile.
