Works with any Newbery! Great for reading groups, independent reading, or whole class projects.
Use these questions and choice of two projects while students read Newbery or Newbery Honor books. After dividing the book into ten parts, students read daily and answer a question in their reading notebook or on loose-leaf paper. Questions range from predictions and summary writing to deciding if the book deserves a Newbery award.
Then, students complete one or both projects after the book is done. Project 1 is a Newbery Wheel, where students create a large paper wheel, divide it into 6 slices and fill in information on each slice. Project 2 is creating a new award for the book to win.
