I used this rubric after my students gave their monthly book report presentations. Once a month, students presented a book that they had been reading throughout the month in a creative way (beyond book reports).
I gave one copy of the rubric to my students and assigned them a partner to evaluate.
I then explained to them that my evaluation and their evaluations should be pretty similar if were doing a good (unbiased) and critical evaluation.
As they, and myself, evaluated, they were expected to write critiques and observations on the second page using a Feedback Sandwich and I encouraged them to use words and explanations not found on the page.
After the presentations were finished, students had two copies of the rubric to take home--mine and a peers.
This particular rubric is for a book report on a Newbery medalist.
best of luck!
