The most common question I am asked, "what do you teach a student who just arrives with no English skills?"
Newcomers need lots of support and intense lessons to help springboard their access to content in the classroom.
4 day lessons with two hands on assessments. I teach these in 5-8 minute parts or mini lessons the first week to two weeks upon student entering U.S. school. This packet includes independent printable students can complete by themselves after the mini-lesson.
These lessons are packed with articles, pronouns, singular and plural nouns to help students master common commands and phrases quickly. All Survival Lesson Units are PRINT and TEACH with little to no prep work needed.
What age level? Good question...these are great for all ages, even adults. Some activities may require basic home language literacy. I have used it with 2nd graders and others use it with high school students.
Each of the three lessons come with flashcards, teacher/tutor lesson guide, games for small group practice and an independent application, and two hands on assessments.
