PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This newsletter looked at the background to In God We Trust as it is found on coins, paper money and stamps. When and why did the federal government under President Lincoln begin to include this statement? In 1957 President Eisenhower signed a law making the statement our nation's motto. How did the eras of the Civil WAR and the Cold WAR influence both presidents actions? Next the newsletter asks students to compare the journey of the Mormons to the Pilgrims or Puritans, or Jamestown settlers. What similarities or differences can students find between those two eras as the Mormons were looking for the same freedoms as those in 1607 and 1620/30. Envelope links are no longer live but ideas are very current.
