This product is designed for your students to become familiar with the different components of a newspaper. This lesson will give your students a sense of purpose and direction as they examine and evaluate any newspaper.
Your students will locate and examine the title, cover page, date, page numbers, weather forecast, national and world news, advertisements, sports, classifieds, comics, astrology, obituaries, opinion or editorial pages, and personal likes and dislikes of the newspaper layout.
In addition, students will be asked to select and read an article. Then, students will write a summary of the chosen articles.

Just save a few local newspapers to bring into your classroom. Any newspapers will work!
