This newspaper journalism semester exam has taken several years of revising and even includes editorial staff contributions to make the questions reflect what we want students to have mastered in the newspaper journalism class.
The summative activity can be administered individually or be distributed to complete in small groups. Both have proven successful ways to discuss important issues and concepts of the changing world of journalism and assess students’ knowledge of staff and style policies.
The test includes 25 open ended questions to be answered in complete sentences. Available in .PDF format, purchasers cannot edit the test as uploaded. However, feel free to copy and paste the questions into a word processing document to adapt the test to your staff's needs. Please do not post the exam on a website or blog.
