Do you use newspapers in your classroom? This year, I have created a newspaper literacy station to use during my literacy block. I wanted this station to be useful and meaningful for my students; thus led me to create these task cards.
These task cards are very low prep and can be used with virtually any nonfiction newspaper article. All you have to do is print and laminate the task cards. I don’t even copy anything for the students’ responses. They complete these tasks in their notebooks or on notebook paper. Truly, all you need are the cards and the newspapers. Easy-peasy! This file contains 20 task cards. Also, you will find a colored version and an ink friendly version of the cards for your convenience.
To see more, be sure and click on the preview. You can see exactly what CCSS standards are covered with these cards.
I hope you find that these CCSS aligned task cards enhance your newspaper center.
The Common Core Standards were developed and written by the NGA.
