Next Dollar (Dollar Up) Draw: Level Three (Prices of 50 to 100 Dollars) has been designed with the intention of helping special needs students gain money sense in a fun and functional way. Students build confidence estimating (by rounding up to the nearest whole number) the correct sum to pay for their purchases. Optimized for group instruction this lesson can be modified in a variety of ways for essential repetitious independent practice. The ability to accurately pay for a purchase is an invaluable skill your special needs students will be able to take with them their entire life.

1 Next Dollar Practice worksheet (Page 3).
1 Number Chart 1-100 (Page 4).
3 Skip Count Cards ($5, $10, $20) (Pages 5-7).
200 Money Cards with prices of 50 to 100 Dollars (Pages 8-32).
Step 1: Print Money Cards (Pages 8-32).
Step 2: Cut out Money Cards along solid lines.
Step 3: Laminate Money Cards (Optional but HIGHLY recommended!).
Step 4: Print or copy enough Next Dollar Practice worksheets (Page 3), Number Chart 1-100 (Page 4) and Skip Count Cards (Pages 5-7) for all students.
Step 5: PLAY!
How to Play:
Mix Money Cards up. Have students take turns randomly picking prices and rounding price up to nearest whole dollar (For instance: A price of $65.75 rounds to $66). To enhance instruction have students count out next dollar amount using play money (not included). Students practice writing down values on Next Dollar Practice worksheet (Page 3). Number Chart 1-100 worksheet (Page 4) and Skip Count Cards (Pages 5-7) can be used to aid students in selecting appropriate next dollar amount and counting.
