**The products contained in this bundle are the same ones you can buy separately in my store. Please download the preview to see the products contained.

I developed these resources for special education teachers and families working with students who are learning basic money skills. The set was designed for middle and high school students, but would work well with younger students working on the same skills. The pictures and items are all functional items like groceries and restaurant foods so they are age-appropriate across the grades. Answer Keys and answer sheets are included for each product.

Altogether in this bundle are the following:
**40 multiple choice task cards using the next dollar strategy in which students circle the price they could afford given a set number of $1 and $5 bills
**40 multiple-choice task cards using the next dollar strategy in which students circle the dollars needed to make a purchase for the price on the card. There are also 40 identical cards with the price left blank for you to add it in for students who would memorize the answers--so you can change it up.
**10 worksheets in which students write in the number of dollars needed to make a purchase of the items (with price).

For more detailed information about each product included see below.

Next Dollar Up Task Cards: Money Skills [Special Education]
This set includes 40 multiple-choice task cards for using the next dollar up strategy. There are 2 sets included. In one (cards 1-20) the students determine which of 3 prices they could buy with the dollars they have. In this set, the answer is always the lowest number. In the second set (cards 21-40) the students choose the most expensive prices they can buy with the bills they have. So in this set there could be more than 1 answer of what they can buy, but they have to choose the most they could buy.

Cards 1-20: What can I buy?—lowest price answer
Cards 1-8: $1 to $5 with $1 bills
Cards 9-16: $6 to $9 with $1 bills
Cards 17-20: $6 to $9 with combinations of $5 and $1 bills
Cards 21-40: What’s the most expensive thing I can buy?—more complex
Cards 21-28: $1 to $5 with $1 bills
Cards 29-36: $6 to $9 with $1 bills
Cards 37-40: $6 to $9 with combinations of $5 and $1 bills

Answer Key and Answer Sheet included

The task cards (1-40) are all multiple-choice with 3 choices so that students can use dry-erase markers to circle the answer and are not required to write the answers. Students who are unable to circle could dab the answers with a marker or use a clothespin or paperclip to mark the answer. I have also included an answer sheet for students who are able to write their answers on a separate sheet.

How Many Dollars? Task Cards: Money [Next Dollar] Skills [Special Education]
This set includes 80 task cards for using the next dollar up strategy. In the next dollar up strategy, the student chooses the next dollar up from the price tag so that even without being able to make change, he can make a purchase and know how much he can afford. For instance, if an item costs $3.20, the student would circle / give 4 $1 bills

There are 2 sets included. The sets are identical except one has prices and one has a place for the teacher to write the price in so it can be changed. In both sets the student circles the number of bills required to buy an item with a price tag on the card. One set (1-40) has prices set on it. The second set (41-80) are the same cards with empty price tags that the teacher can complete. This set is useful if you have students who tend to memorize answers. You can change the prices on the items regularly so the students cannot memorize them. The cards have restaurant and grocery items with prices between $1 and $9.

The answer key is included. Because the student answers by circling the dollar bills needed on card, I did not include an answer sheet. However, if you would like one, email me at drchrisreeve@gmail.com and I’m happy to make one and send it to you..

Next Dollar Up Worksheets
The product package contains a total of 10 black and white worksheets. There are 3 worksheets with amounts to $5 and 7 worksheets with amounts to $10. Students can use the number line of the dollars at the top to count how many dollars are needed. These worksheets are designed so that the students use the Next Dollar Up strategy to determine how many dollar bills are needed to buy a product. Using this strategy, you look at a price (say $1.50) and you give one more dollar than the number of dollars in the price (you give $2). So, if you want to buy something that has a price for 4.50, you give $5 and get back the change.

For more ideas and uses of these resources, please see my blog at Autism Classroom News. I will be making more of these types of resources for older students.
