This is a great way to introduce coins to students. I have one for each of the coins and $1.00 bill. I start by giving the students a hand held magnifying glass. This allows them to examine the coin. We then brainstorm things they saw either as a class or in partners or table groups. After making a class list the students then have to write their own list of things they saw on their coin. They also do a crayon rubbing of each side of the coin.
