This study guide includes a list of high frequency vocabulary words, background vocabulary words, comprehension and literary device questions, analysis questions, and writing prompts. I introduce the high frequency words in a powerpoint before I have students read the text. They create their own definitions, pictures, word families, etc. in a foldable. The vocabulary powerpoint can also be purchased from my store. I explain the background vocabulary as we read and show pictures related to the words. We do the comprehension questions together as we read. Students complete the analysis questions in assigned ability groups, and they create a presentation and essay for the focus questions in assigned ability groups. I assign them specific #s.
